Easy Cellphone Case

Here is a really simple pattern for a cellphone holder with a key ring.

What you need:
  • Cute fabric
  • Batting
  • Key Ring
  • Interfacing
Cut:
  • 2 pieces of fabric 11.25" x 4.5"
  • 2 pieces of fusible interfacing 11" X 4.25"
  • 1 piece of batting 11" x 4.25"
  • 1 piece of fabric 3.5" by 3" to make the tab with
I used an idea originally designed for an iPhone and altered the size to fit my phone (htc sensation). If you would like to make this for an iPhone make all of the measurements above a half inch small. For example, the the fabric for the top would then be 10.75" X 4".

Sew:

  1. First fuse the interfacing to the wrong side of the 2 pieces of fabric.
  2. Next you need to fold the small piece of fabric to make the tab. To do this lay it face down on the table. Fold both sides into the middle. Finally fold in half.
  3. Next you want to sew down both sides of the tab.
  4. Place the 2 pieces of fabric right sides together, place the batting on top and pin in place. Before you begin to sew these together you need to attach the tab.
  5. Sew around the edges leaving a 3" gap to turn it inside out.
  6. Next trim the batting back to help with the bulk on the edges and snip the corners of the fabric off.
  7. Next you need to flip it inside out.
  8. Make sure you poke the corners out all the way. You can't really fix that later.
  9. Top stitch the bottom edges. (the short ones)
  10. Fold the whole thing in half and pin.
  11. Stitch the sides closed.
  12. Finally attach your key ring.

Happy Crafting
